"Blood Rose" Halloween couture collaborative campaign 🩸🥀

For this collaborative project, Hermione de Paula and Claws by Tiger Taylor wanted to challenge the disposability of Halloween. 

Each year, tonnes of single-use plastic wigs, spiders, skeletons, and cobwebs are bought for a single night, only to end up in landfill.

Couture, by contrast, is about craftsmanship and longevity. Hermione used repurposed lace to create this stunning dress: a piece designed to be worn, reimagined, and loved again and again. The nails were hand-made for this shoot with the comfort that they will eventually biodegrade and return to the earth.

We wanted to explore the tension between nature’s resilience and impermanence, the oak tree that endures for centuries, and the leaves and flowers that bloom and decay, giving life back to the soil. Our couture stands for the lasting; our nails, for the ephemeral.

Finding camaraderie with other founders who push the boundaries of sustainability is one of the greatest joys of this journey for me. This shoot is our love letter to everyone doing their part, in whatever way they can, to build a better future. ♻️
